FMCSA Revokes Five More ELDs; Replace by October 6, 2026

What Changed: On August 6, 2026, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration removed five electronic logging devices from its Registered Devices List: 1. MOONLIGHT ELD — Provider: UZB2USA INC — Model: MRS — ELD Identifier: MRS255 2. HGRS ELD — Provider: HGRS — Model: HGR — ELD Identifier: HRS169 3. HIGHEST ELD — Provider: HGRS — Model: HIG4ES — ELD Identifier: HIG385 4. TRUCKFORD ELD — Provider: Truckford ELD — Model: TRS — ELD Identifier: TRS263 5. Sparkle ELD — Provider: Spark Technologies Inc. — Model: PT40SIM — ELD Identifier: SPARK6 Current Status: The devices are revoked. Affected carriers and drivers should discontinue using them, use paper logs or logging software to record required hours-of-service data during the transition, and install a compliant registered ELD before October 6, 2026. Enforcement Deadline: Before October 6, 2026, safety officials are encouraged not to cite drivers using one of these revoked devices for 395.8(a)(1), "No record of duty status," or 395.22(a), "Failing to use a registered ELD." Officials may instead review paper logs, logging software, or the ELD display as a backup. Beginning October 6, 2026, carriers and drivers who continue using one of the revoked devices will be considered to be operating without a compliant ELD. Drivers may be cited under 395.8(a)(1) and placed out of service in accordance with applicable CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria. Important Note: Before purchasing or continuing to use an ELD, drivers and motor carriers should check FMCSA's current Registered and Revoked ELD lists. An ELD's status can change if FMCSA removes it or later reinstates it after a provider corrects identified deficiencies.
