September 8 Replacement Deadline Has Passed for 10 Revoked ELDs

FMCSA removed 10 ELDs from its Registered Devices list on July 9, 2026. The replacement deadline was September 8, 2026. Motor carriers and drivers continuing to use devices that remain on FMCSA's Revoked Devices list may be treated as operating without a compliant ELD and may be subject to enforcement under 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1), including out-of-service action under applicable CVSA criteria.

What Changed: On July 9, 2026, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration removed 10 electronic logging devices from its Registered Devices list due to the providers' failure to meet the minimum requirements established in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395. Current Status: The 60-day replacement deadline was September 8, 2026. Beginning September 8, 2026, motor carriers who continue to use devices that remain on FMCSA's Revoked Devices list will be considered to be operating without a compliant ELD. Safety officials who encounter a driver using a revoked device on or after September 8, 2026, should cite 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1) and place the driver out-of-service in accordance with applicable CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria. Important Note: FMCSA states that if an ELD provider corrects all identified deficiencies, FMCSA will place the device back on the Registered Devices list and inform the industry. A device's status can change after a revocation notice is issued. Check the device's current status on FMCSA's live Registered and Revoked ELD lists before relying on an older notice. Clear To Roll Callout: If your device appears on FMCSA's current Revoked ELD list, discontinue using it and replace it with an ELD currently listed on FMCSA's Registered Devices list. Do not assume a previously revoked device is still revoked without checking the current FMCSA list.
